I'm Luis Guimarães, a Product Developer and AI Engineer. I built Sidebarlex because I ran into the same problem you have. And I had the skills to solve it.
Why I built this
When AI tools became genuinely useful, I hit a wall: every good one required my work to go through someone else's server. That wasn't acceptable. So I built my own setup: local model, private, offline, running on my own computer.
Then I realized lawyers, consultants, healthcare providers (professionals who handle sensitive client information every day) were hitting the same wall and had no way over it. They didn't have the technical background to build what I built. So I started doing it for them.
Who I am
I've worked in technology since 1997. Started as a developer, moved into product management, and came back to building when AI made it impossible to stay away.
I love what this technology can do for professionals who don't have armies of staff behind them. A solo attorney competing with a 200-person firm. A small practice doing work that used to require a full research team. AI levels that playing field in a real way. And keeping it private is what makes it usable for the people who need it most.
How I work
Everything is remote, via screen share. I handle the setup from start to finish: choosing the right model for your computer, installing everything, loading your jurisdiction and practice area, testing it on real documents. I don't sign off until it works and you're confident using it.
I'm improving this product every week: faster models, better templates, deeper legal coverage. Every improvement reaches you. I'm reachable by email and I respond within one business day.
